This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Kokuryo (not bad, but not great)
  • did a bunch of laundry
  • went to see the Shotts Highland Games (hammer-throwing! The imaginatively-named Throwing of the [n]-pound weight! Tossing the caber! Ugly tattoos! Rude children!)
  • did more laundry
  • had my new favourite takeaway — chipsteak, chips, and curry sauce
  • did the weekly shop at Asda
  • vacuumed (this was one chore-like weekend)
  • helped Neil in the garden (but only if it involves destruction)
  • read more Exit Music

This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Kampong Ah Lee, which had a review published in s1play.com (food not bad, good chicken curry but definitely frozen roti prata/canai and while the nasi was suitably lemak, the amount of ikan bilis on the plate was pitiful)
  • spent all day at Emma’s 6th birthday party (Euan was bored — all girls, he said)
  • watched most of Blade 2
  • did the weekly shop at Asda (Neil decided that he wanted to have a barbecue)
  • walked out of Asda to find rain just starting to fall (typical)
  • had Brian and Carene over for barbecue food cooked on the grill
  • watched some telly (it all blurs together in the end)

(A quiet hello and see you next year to Luke — and congratulations to En and Mark!)

This weekend I…

  • watched Have I Got News For You (always legendary) and Jonathon Ross
  • went to Body Pump
  • stuck a frozen pizza in the oven for lunch
  • did some chores while Neil DIY’d (we now have shelves in the store room! Hand-made by Neil!)
  • cooked dinner all by myself (chicken with shallots, garlic, and chillies — I was told it was good, which means I’ll never ever be able to repeat it)
  • met my cousin and his family for lunch
  • watched Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (verdict: fun, but the special effects at the end kind of made it less thrilling — maybe we were too far away from the screen to be dazzled, but then I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark on the telly and I was overcome with excitement at the end when they melted)
  • did the weekly shop at Asda

This weekend I…

  • watched Jonathon Ross
  • went to Body Pump (and was encouraged to also give Body Attack a go)
  • hung out with my cousin and his family (wow, that baby can talk — her favourite thing to say is, “I don’t know?!”)
  • had a few drinks with Kirstie (it was her birthday)
  • did the six-kilometre walk around the loch in Strathclyde Park in aid of St. Andrew’s Hospice
  • did the weekly shop in Asda (in Hamilton this time)
  • watched old episodes of Cold Case

This weekend I…

  • went to Body Pump
  • re-designed this here site
  • had Chinese takeaway for dinner
  • computered some more
  • watched Iron Man (what fun!!!)
  • did the weekly shop in at Asda
  • looked at wedding rings (holy crap platinum is expensive, another reason why we’re not bothered about an engagement ring)
  • moved a few more things over to the house
  • half-watched Hero

This weekend I…

  • went to Body Pump (upped the weights — I’m aching)
  • went shopping in Glasgow with Carene
  • had chips and curry sauce for dinner (mmm)
  • went to Brian and Carene’s, then the pub, then back to Brian and Carene’s (where I promptly fell asleep, to no one’s surprise)
  • snacked on cup-a-soup and savoury bakey goodness
  • crocheted (quack quack) while watching Raiders of the Lost Ark (whee!)

This weekend I…

  • went to a charity race night (horse and greyhound races on DVD, place bets, raffle, auction, all proceeds went to the St. Andrew’s Hospice in Lanarkshire)
  • tried to go to Body Pump, but the class I’d booked in for wasn’t on, so I used the gym instead
  • lazed around watching James Martin on a Yorkshire cooking programme
  • had a chipsteak (weird name) and chips for dinner (mmm, takeaway)
  • did the weekly shop at Asda
  • had a lovely long chat with my mum, then my sister
  • computered till bedtime

This weekend I…

  • met Neil, Brian and Carene at The Voodoo Rooms for dinner and drinks
  • let Neil laze around (’twas his birthday!)
  • computered
  • had dinner with Neil’s mother and sister in China Blue (yum)
  • did the weekly shop at Asda
  • explored Craignethan Castle (Neil, here’s why it’s called Tillietudlem Castle!)
  • was highly amused to find out from Brian that after The Voodoo Rooms on Friday, Neil went up to the counter at McDonalds to order a Whopper
  • computered and watched Gangs Of New York (I wasn’t paying that much attention, but it was a little more maudlin than it needed to be, IMHO)
  • computered and watched Desperate Housewives because neither Neil nor I could be bothered changing the channel
