This weekend I…

  • went to Brian and Carene’s for a few drinks (and fell asleep, I’m so lame)
  • had McDonalds for lunch (I was craving very bad food)
  • went to Neil’s friends, Roy and Pam’s house for their miniature class reunion (there’s something seriously wrong when his peers have children old enough to go to primary school — when did we get that old?)
  • turned the clocks forward for British Summer Time (I am NOT used to this)
  • ran jogged the St Andrew’s Hospice Lanarkshire Ladies 6K at Strathclyde Park
  • checked out furniture, Mandor’s (got some remnants), and Miller’s (got nothing)
  • had some homemade tomato soup
  • watched a little Grey’s Anatomy
The Londoner
Neil spotted this pub in the East End of Glasgow. Alan sure gets around.

(While Neil, his sister, and pal are away I have time to post that) This weekend I…

  • saw my weekend start on Thursday as a few drinks at The Londoner turned into several drinks because Alan was there
  • slept in
  • wrote down some crochet patterns as I made them (the finished products will make an appearance in my Etsy shop soon, I hope — unless Apple has her way and consigns them all to her brick and mortar store)
  • had chilli roasted fish (and other things) for dinner (with Choi, then we met Apple at theirs)
  • finished my project for the cuff swap (to be sent out on Monday, I’m rather nervous about her reaction, it’s my first cuff, photos will be posted on Flickr after she receives it)
  • had dinner at our local Thai restaurant (something is wrong with me… I like the Tom Yam with coconut soup, two things I have always avoided)
  • finished watching all the episodes I have of Desperate Housewives, season two (I blame my mother for raving about it, she’s got me hooked on something that I think is actually quite silly )
  • watched The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio (loved it)
  • went to to the fabric market to pick up some supplies
  • crafted at Apple’s shop (while the rain came pouring down)
  • got dragged to dinner at Little Chilli
  • worked on some freelance stuff

This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Havana (where we wouldn’t go but for the vouchers I get — it’s not that good, frankly)
  • went to The Londoner for a bit (and had a great time watching old videos — sadly, without sound — on MTV)
  • got stuff prepared for posting off on my first craft swap
  • had dim sum at Lucky Full with the Chong clan
  • went to Fenny’s place and watched The Naked Kiss
  • tried to go to the chiropractor (it was closed and moving to another location)
  • went for a massage at Chang Sheng Tang
  • had dinner at the Singapore restaurant
  • had lunch at a great Xinjiang place
  • went furniture window shopping with Choi and Apple (Choi and Apple were shopping, we were looking)
  • watched Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (whee!!!!!)
  • watched a couple of episodes of Arrested Development, season one
  • had dinner at The House (which, by the way, was quite disappointing — my vegetarian gnocchi is about 2/3 the size it was when it was first put on the menu, and for the same price)
  • finished reading Stupid White Men

This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Little Chilli
  • went to The Londoner (to meet Reuben, and it became really crowded and smoky later on, when we got home out clothes absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke)
  • did a load of laundry
  • watched The Big Lebowski (finally)
  • did nothing all day (the weather was shite)
  • went to Georgie’s birthday dinner at Pattaya
  • ended up at The Londoner, which was very smoky (because the smokers couldn’t handle the cold and had all the windows closed, so I stayed outside most of the time)
  • watched the first half of Aeon Flux (I used to watch the cartoon infrequently on the telly, and Neil likes to see girls in tight outfits, so it was win-win)
  • continued reading The Historian
  • finished watching Aeon Flux (I had such low expectations at the beginning, and so it turned out better than I thought)
  • had dinner at Tutto Bene (had a hankering for stew, and it the only place that I could think of that served something like stew)
  • finished reading The Historian (what a good book; I love vampire stories, and this one was a great tale with the ‘back story’ of Dracula extremely well fleshed out)

The Londoner 2006 calendar

This weekend I…

  • was invited to a dinner of (expensive) wine and food at the Sofitel (the food and wine was good, but geez, the price tag — luckly I was invited)
  • met up with Neil at The Londoner
  • got dragged to Park Latin
  • stayed till Clint (the DJ) dragged us to La Bomba (new club)
  • slept in most of the day
  • had dinner at the Japanese all you can eat
  • drank a pot of fruit tea at the Singapore restaurant
  • had a coffee at Javaromas
  • read a book while Neil watched Yellow Submarine
  • went for lunch at the floating restaurant
  • wandered around Fire Island, Huoshaoyu (火烧屿)
  • had dinner at The House
  • watched Human Traffic (wasn’t as good as wee Delboy hyped all those years ago, but a great effort for a first-time feature director)

This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Tutto Bene with Gary and Georgie
  • had a few drinks at The Londoner
  • had a final drink at Glass House
  • did nothing all day
  • had dinner at a Korean restaurant we’d never tried before
  • had a hot chocolate at Javaromas (and started reading Snow Falling on Cedars)
  • watched The Blues Brothers on DVD
  • lazed around all morning
  • went for a walk around the back streets of Xiamen
  • went over to Gary and Georgie’s for dinner (Neil fixed the barbecue on which our dinner was prepared)

This weekend I…

  • had dinner at Little Chilli
  • had a few Bloody Marys at The House (Bloody Marys are my new drink)
  • had a few more drinks at The Londoner (and some barbecue)
  • boogied a little at Park Latin
  • slept all day
  • had Xinjiang food for dinner (mmm, garlic)
  • watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Johnny Depp is a genius)
  • watched Stealth (I have a sneaking suspicion it’s a satire — I really, really hope so)
  • had an early dinner at Tutto Bene
  • watched Danny the Dog (the one time Jet Li’s haltering English helps, but why does someone raised by Cockney gangsters in Glasgow have a Chinese accent?)
