Everyone’s talking about this one. There’s a good reason — the video is brilliant. What a great effort.

Under ordinary circumstances my eyes will glaze over when dance music is put on. I’m not much fun in clubs. Neil usually knows better than to torture me with the stuff. But I’m happy about the day he made me listen to BT, the man’s super-talented.
It may be good old Rage Against the Machine this year (haha!), but this is the song that seriously needs to be re-appreciated by the yoof of today:
I’m listening to John Mayer’s new single. *sigh* What a voice. He’ll be coming to Glasgow in January — I’d buy a ticket if they didn’t big it up so much.
The Guardian interviews A-ha: WTF is up with Morten Harket’s skin? It’s tighter than Pal’s drums in the Take On Me video.
In memory of John Hughes, here’s Simple Minds’ Don’t You Forget About Me, a song I will always associate with The Breakfast Club.
Detention was something I only read about and this film really set up my impression of American adolescence. There I was, in a boring convent school, and these kids (boys! and girls! in the same room!!) really understood life, man.
I went lindy hopping this week. I am in no way intending to improve on my basic knowledge and I think my main reason for going these days is because the music is great to listen to. Some relaxed social dancing without trying to apply some newly-learned step is what I’m after — emphasis on social. Plus it can get the heart rate going if the beat is really fast, so I think it counts towards Urbathon training, right?
ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Living End are playing at The Garage in November. I hope they play some old stuff. *runs off to buy the last three albums* (A lot of involuntary clapping happened here.)
