Cup Noodles are the bomb
Currently very keen on watching The Mentalist. I love Simon Baker’s three-piece suits. Neil would totally rock that look.

Awww, diddums… Jonathan Creek star faces 25% pay cut by BBC.
It’s been pretty tough getting Operation Blue-Footed Booby under control over the last couple of weeks. The Kitchen Project is well underway, which means we haven’t been able to cook for about a week. Then there was the Anniversary Weekend, which involved some Edinburgh Festival shows* (the only event that actually deserves first letter capitalisation since other people give a shit about it) and eating in a restaurant with a demonic head (and gawking tourists) grinning at me.

This here is an Elvis impersonator who showed up at the Vegas! club night on Saturday at The Voodoo Rooms, which was incredibly good fun. Good music and great Bloody Marys. Unfortunately, I don’t like Vegas Elvis. I like young, un-jumpsuited, rockabilly Elvis. We need more of those.
But it’s already September and so I only have, what, six weeks to go before I really have to Do This Thing — 10 kilometres of running jumping climbing trees in Holyrood Park**. The gym we go to has a pool, and this is the most swimming I’ve done in over a decade. I’m not particularly big on swimming, but I prefer to do the breaststroke than lift weights to build upper body strength.
But this Booby will definitely be doing the Urbathon barring unforeseen catastrophe, so please support me in my quest to (not) break a limb while traversing Holyrood Park. Please send a card to Brian Hosier or donate to help with his cancer treatments. The people I see in real life will be badgered to donate to Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.
* Camille O’Sullivan on Friday, who I then met on Monday evening because she visited the office, how weird; and Simon Amstell, who seemed tired and eventually cancelled his final show on Sunday night. I saw Richard Holloway last night but that was a freebie from work and he was brilliant.
** I actually doubt there’ll be any tree-climbing, but an Eddie Izzard-ism has always seemed appropriate for this project.
