It’s not all fun, fun, fun here at See Sim The Tower of Incomplete Renovation — although we’ve been watching films and stuff:
9 Dead Gay Guys — a re-viewing. Silly as always. Highly recommended if you have a taste for the absurd. Should it worry me that Neil chose to watch this? Heh.
The Notebook — even Neil enjoyed this. Despite it being the type of film I love to hate, the acting and screenplay, I think, made it not just a saccharine chick flick. And the ending was perfectly bittersweet.
Bass Notes — I got free tickets to see a ‘world premiere’ of Concerto Op 42 ‘Sonnambulo’. A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday evening, then we went to a rock bar and stayed out too late.
Meanwhile there’s been loads of laundry done and — crucially — no cooking. We’ve really got to get that cooker connected. And a proper mattress as well. It’s been pretty tough finding a mattress firm enough for us — Scots sure are wussy. And we’ve still got a final box (or two) of stuff that needs to be moved. And we need to get one more small wardrobe. And to finish papering the hallway.
But at least our books have been unpacked!
