I get to go on a business trip later this week. Just an overnighter to London for a one-day conference, mind you. Meanwhile, Neil gets to go see Metallica. Any suggestions on good and affordable places to have dinner near Euston or King’s Cross stations, then breakfast between that and Bloomsbury Square? I’m fairly clueless about London.

More for my benefit than anyone else’s. I’m all a-flutter about a possible Preacher movie because I enjoyed Watchmen. But I’m not sure how they’re going to translate the insanity of Jesse’s family, God, Cassidy (as we getting the specials woven in), Saint of Killers, Arseface, and so on into film?
A mini-series, I think! Or a movie with loads of short films to tell all the spin-off stories (Herr Star, for example) — I would totally buy the deluxe DVD set.
A petition to stop the annual seal hunt, FAIR’s advisory on the Dow and its reflection on the Obama administration, Strathclyde’s police cracking down on thugs masquerading as providers of ’security’ (a bit slow, are they not), and UK savers protesting the latest rate cut (as usual, the thrifty and long-term thinkers get penalised). Oh, and the Wolverine vs. Rorschach mashup.
