My hero…

He had complimentary things to say about my extremely old and spotty copy of Cryptonomicon, although I suspect he really thought it was manky as hell.

  1. Eek! That is mighty impressive!! He looks much younger than I thought he would too!! Look at the grin on your face – like that cat that got the cream.

  2. ah ha ha! Do you have "Anathem"? Do you like it?

He spoke at Google, and although now that you've met him you've probably got a flavor for his personality, it's a good one for the completist:

  3. Boo, I was all dizzy with excitement the entire week, waiting for this moment… haha. *geek*

Jeff, I haven't bought Anathem yet, I almost didn't get a chance to have my copy signed what with all the fanboys in the queue – I'll get one later. I would have got the copy of Snow Crash you gave me signed, but it's still in Singapore.

  5. Yeah, ditto Terry's comment. You're working some kind of professorial thing there. Or maybe it's just cold in Scotland?

  6. Don't hate me just 'cause I like tweed!

Jeff, I had a parka on as well, but Waterstone's was full of sci-fi nerd bodies.
