Reverse psychology in the US primaries
9 January 2008
Did the mainstream media’s constant reporting of Barack Obama’s opinion poll lead in New Hampshire lead to increased voter support for Hillary Clinton?
I think so.

There can be very little that makes sense in the early primaries, even with years of analysis. Bill Clinton only rose to the front in the 1992 primaries after a few well known candidates dropped out. Several states had already had their elections by that time.
Oh god, we still have to put up with another 10 months of this crap… I got tired of all the election coverage two weeks ago.

In Australia we complianed that the 'official' election campaign was six weeks long…
You have nearly 2 years of this rubbish…
p.s. Andrea, did you know that the new Aussie PM is the Brother-in-Law of James and Lina at Javaromas in Xiamen?

Terry, yeah, I don't know how they can keep it up, it's so draining for the candidates and boring for everyone else!
Tutu, no, I did not! I expect there will be some people in Xiamen who will become James' really good friends now.

The local "business" people are lining up already…
I asked I could get a special tax rate cut to 0%… no answer yet!!!

News analyses I’ve listened to agree with you, Andrea, at least in part. The other reason cited is she had a few “humanizing” moments over the weekend – she may have previously gone too far in fighting the stereotype that women are too emotional, etc. and instead had been coming off as wooden or fake.
