Don’t hate the game, hate the player

One, a semi-serious video for lads to learn how to be confident and pick up women:

Two, a completely un-serious video sending up wannabe pick up artists:

I love Paul Rudd. He’s devastatingly good-looking and has no problem making fun of himself.

(To me he is beautiful.)

  1. I occasionally meet people who swear by this, but I feel like it has to be just superficial people trying it on other superficial people. Aren’t these so-called seduction techniques really obvious to their intended victims? And if not, what would you think of them (and yourself)?

I’ve met a some men who claim it works, but no women who will admit to it…

  2. It is supposed to work on some women, but would you want your best friend to get up at your wedding reception and say you picked up your wife for a quick shag wearing a dick on your head? Okay for getting a girl for a night but I would not trust a girl met that way to stay faithful.

  3. Haha. I think The Game only works if the AFCs spend the time, like Neil Strauss did, to learn about their own strengths and develop their own confidence.

(Note: Canongate publishes The Game and ROTG in the UK.)

Most guys just memorise the lines and try to get laid as much as possible, so they’re basically faking charisma. I would never be interested in some peacocking dude who wants me to think he’s the ‘funnest’ bloke in the room.
