The best part was the Tibetan nomads
The final episode of Paul Merton in China just aired. I really, really enjoyed it — it wasn’t all, Look at this ancient culture and we are all so groovy and understanding and tolerant. He saw the funny, strange, horrid, and kind of heartwarming side of things. I now want to see the Fawlty Towers hotel in Yangshuo, although I’m sure it’s really popular now!
(I am not surprised at the rich lady saying she didn’t believe there were political prisoners in China. I have documented my experiences with some former Chinese colleagues who have been well and truly indoctrinated, blind to their country’s flaws.)
