You… light up my life…

Not that I have any say or anything, but I like to fantasise about what kind of home furnishings and interior design my home for the foreseeable future will have.

Not being an interior designer by trade or passion, I think this is a sign that I’m getting old.

Not to be daunted however (thanks to today’s sponsor), I’ve got some ideas when in comes to lighting. My mum has got me into getting a lamp that functions as a reading light, and I do very much like the style of this P3 model from George Kovacs. A bookworm by nature, I had a bad habit of reading in the dark when I was a child, and I have the extremely poor eyesight (as an adult) to prove it. So having a reading lamp close to hand would be mega. Also, the driveway leading from the gate to the back door (the door we normally use to get in the house) is awfully dark at night, dark enough for me to fear bogeymen hiding in the hawthorn hedge. There is a motion-triggered light near the back door, but I’d prefer a couple more light fixtures along the side of the house to tame my imagination. However, if they do not illuminate quite enough, I’m going to get huge-ass floodlights to make me feel better.

I also have fantasies about furniture and some unrealistic hopes for re-upholstering some old armchairs (not that unrealistic, just time-consuming), so stay tuned for those.
