		<description>Although generally in the US public transport is crap, we do seem to have good Internet-based systems for planning trips on public transport.  I've had good luck with Portland, Minneapolis, and right here in the SF Bay Area.  There's even GPS-based systems to tell you when the next bus will arrive (and the one after that), which is handy when I'm at the bar deciding whether to order another round.

I hope the UK doesn't go the car-centric route we've taken over here...</description>
