You might be thinking of another rock bar/club in Glasgow called the Cathouse. It used to be quite, eh, open minded but then it moved and has become progressively more mainstream. It's great people watching, but you can tell that the freak are dressing up because they crave the attention, rather than because they actually enjoy it.
