This probably won’t start any debate

Who’s better at being good, the committed religious person who is good because they believe in life after death / reincarnation, or the atheist who doesn’t believe in anything after death and is good anyway?

Athiest, surely it's better to be good w/o wanting or expecting anything at the end …

I think so too.

Hi bailz, I have not seen you post for a while.
The atheist being good for no reason has a little better standing on moral grounds. I guess I do not know enough about them as a group to know if they regularly do better on average than religious people.
Right off I can not name many atheists that are known as upstanding moral pillars of their community. OTOH, I can name a lot of misguided religious people that do wrong in the name of their deity.

That's why organised religion is bad, IMHO. Gives too many people a reason to do bad shit.

Overly simplified question. One can believe in life beyond this world without being in an organized religion. Organized religion is the true criminal.

Of course it is; to add qualifications and nuances to every possibility makes things too complex. But I wasn't trying to include everyone.
