Fidelius is famous

It’s seriously weird to see something I’ve made on a Wist. My prediction was right as well — one of the cats has taken a liking to Crispin, and Mum says it’s disappeared more than once.

It’s not me, it’s you

Taxi drivers: if I do not have my arm sticking out, I’m not looking for a taxi. If I’m by the road, chances are I’m trying to cross it, and blocking my path by slowing to an almost complete stop right in front of me is not going to make me want to hop into your cab.

Grinding to a halt

After almost five years, my computer’s Windows ME system underwent its first reinstall. I suppose it went okay, but now I’m working out, one programme at a time, which ones also need reinstalling.

A minor panic occurred when the graphics card refused to display anything better than 640×480, then I decided to remove the Dell system software CD from its sleeve for the first time ever and suddenly things look normal again. Praise be.

So now I have to reinstall Office, random security things, and I’m sure I’ll find out — as time goes by — what else needs done. Oh yeah. PhotoShop. Sigh.

I’m not sure, however, if the reinstall has extended the life of my laptop — it’s crashed (i.e. frozen and requiring a hard reset) twice since the big move. I guess it’s an improvement over crashing ten times in one day. It’s all relative, I suppose.
