Dear Toofty,
As the sock doll that was hot on the heels of the little savage, you are a little neglected… except in my heart.
Gag me with a spoon, will ya?
While we were shopping with the Chongs on Saturday, I noticed a simple line illustration of a rabbit on one of Nicky’s purchases. Being born in the year of the rabbit myself, I thought it would be a fine idea to make a sock rabbit.
Oh, I sewed your ears quite well, even if I do say so myself, Toofty. I mean, check out that two-tone effect!
(Er, actually, the photos don’t show it so well, but trust me, it’s there. See, yer feet are two-toned. You could be a lindy hopper.)
With you, I now know how to ’sculpt the eye area’ so your button eyes aren’t googly, and I sort of know how to embroider an animal nose and mouth. I will try to make my next animal sock doll look a little happier and less suicidal.
You will be happy to know, dear Toofty, that as you are one of my sock doll experiments, you will remain with me, and I will not give you away to any three year old children to be thrown around and dragged as though you are a contestant in Fear Factor. I won’t make you eat weird food, either.
Love,
Mum

I was looking at a photo of Neil’s The Tufty Club badge from your wedding when I was thinking of a name, so…

Tootfy, did I just saw Lucy riding you? Oh boy, you are too nice. And you are not missing an eye. That’s a good start :-)

Erm, I might be able to make a dog, but I think specific breeds might be beyond my limited skills.
I have an Etsy store now.
