iPod nano

Via Bleepblog, an iPod (nano) I can finally say I like; still, I’m not convinced I should abandon my preference for cheap, no-name MP3 players that I don’t mind sweating all over for an expensive Apple product I will be too afraid to carry around in case I scratch it. 4 gigabytes of memory, on the other hand, is helping to tip the scale in Apple’s favour. But… nah, still not totally lusting after it.

When they get a 4 GB model with a good radio (or free streaming music over ubiquitous bluetooth in urban locations) for $100, I will likely buy one. I thought the Super Tangent was a cheap ripoff of the Shuffle, but was a little closer to what I really want.

After reading some more comments about the Nano over the weekend, all I can say is do not go to a store with enough money in your pocket to buy one. It is very dangerous.

ArsTechnica stress tested one and I do not think you need to be afraid to scratch it. :D

Hehe. They require iTunes, and iTunes requires a version of Windows I do not possess, so… I’ll stick with Chinese-made no-name brands, I think.

Yeah, I have the same OS problem. Paying M$ $80 to upgrade the OS just so I can use iTunes just seems wrong.
