the first successful one, there have been several attempts before. Richard Green (shoe bomber) the most recent.
I have actually started to think about safety against this stuff when I travel now, but how can you protect yourself from lunatics?
Ooh, I love to be pedantic. Richard Reid was trying to bomb an American Airlines plane and was not in the UK at the time. They were referring to these bombers as the first British-born suicide bombers attacking their home country.
I figure if we were to try to protect ourselves from terrorists, we might as well give up. By nature of what they are, they strike civilian areas to create terror. Areas not worth their while are perhaps places that are already unstable for their own reasons.

I don’t want to think about for exactly that reason, by I just find myself sub-conciously thinking about it (or it could be senility!)
