Well, I don’t say SPG doesn’t write well, she does, but it is pretty typical 19 year old stuff. At least she is articulate though.

Besides the point though. Up to her to post a photo of a papaya in an inappropriate place if she wants.

WRT Andrea’s question, my reaction was indifference – it’s not what I think is one of her better photos. But some women… well, very jealous and mean one lah.

Er, pardon my ignorance, but how did most women react? Horror? Outrage? Maybe it’s in jealousy that they don’t have the guts to do it themselves? (I certainly don’t have the guts to do it.)

We are a repressed culture. I didn’t think it was to this extent though, which is why this incident surprised me so much. Interesting to note how most of the women react though (you seem to be an exception).

Gone Fishing, it’s only my opinion, but I think someone like Cowboy Caleb, who I think was the one who made the post on Tomorrow (and the original post linking to SPG was… Urban Male?), isn’t the type who is starved for porn. My impression is that Tomorrow is meant to be a fun site, pointing out things in Singapore, or Singaporeans, that are interesting, for good or bad. You’re right about some of the comments. SPG’s photo is really nothing compared to what is available. Some commenters may have taken it too seriously. That’s not Tomorrow’s fault.

igakunogakusei, thanks for the pointer. I also got the full text in an e-mail from Dominique. And yes, it wasn’t overtly moralistic. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Eldan, oh yeah. If you didn’t get to see the picture, it was nothing. It’s the kind of shot that would not be out of place in a photography magazine or coffee table book.

I don't think the ST article was overtly moralistic. You can read it here (I was using the SPG example to bring up an entirely different point, but anyway).
