6,000 marched
There’s a brief mention of the protests in Xiamen over the weekend. Do you think they found the (non-existent) Japanese consulate, or did they take the ferry over to Gulangyu to abuse the current (Chinese) business occupying the old Japanese consulate? Or did they go and vandalise all the Chinese-owned Japanese restaurants? Is Tokyoto, my favourite Japanese all you can eat, still standing?

I razzed one of my friends who works at a fairly large newspaper. They just published the stock AP story instead of doing a tiny bit of work on why the government is distracting the masses with demonstrations.
My staff tell me it was all pretty tame and only a few cars got ‘attacked’.
All the restaraunts are still in one piece!
Funny…a few of the Japanese living in my apartment building actually went out to watch the ‘parade’, luckily the apartment staff are kindly folk and explained what was happening.
Big Business, pointing out that huge market China’s foibles? Why would they endanger their future revenue like that?
I almost hope that Japan starts pulling out their investments, and the Chinese start protesting against Japan for making them unemployed. It’s fucking unbelievable how gullible and short-term Chinese thinking can be.
Its not unbelievable. I might be willing to debate that the average US citizen is little better.
Terry, no argument from me there.
…and while we’re at it, can we do something about the French. The bastards actually made me do some work on Friday!!!
Ad what might that have been Tutu? Cutting ze cheese per’aps?
…no I do that for fun.
It was real work! Got revenge by calling the f**ker at 04:30am Saturday morning (Toulouse time) with the urgent information he requested!!!
