This weekend I…

burning man

  • had dinner at Havana (no leftover turkey for me)
  • saw in the new year at Havana with their burning man
  • spent far too long at Park Latin (meh)
  • weaseled our way — well, Neil managed it — out of going to KK (nasty) with a very drunk Irish bloke (nasty drunk)
  • slept all day
  • watched Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (was not what I thought it would be at all; also that statue is a little spooky)
  • had lunch at Brown Sugar (bacon and tomato sandwiches rock)
  • ‘took Neil shopping’ at Xiada (haul: two Quiksilver jumpers for him, a duffel coat and corduroy trousers for me)
  • had all you can eat Japanese at Da Kou (meh)
  • had a hot chocolate at Javaromas (they have comfy sofas)
  • watched This is Spinal Tap

  1. Thank you for validating my feelings of discomfort regarding that statue in Midnight in the Garden…. John Cusack, though, negates any unsettling feelings present, though. (Yum.)

  3. hey, that's my hometown in that movie. I grew up in Savannah. EVERYTHING is familiar in that movie. My high school is even in it.
