I’ll see you by the Bund

Business has called me away to Shanghai for the next week.

Neil got back from a two and a half week trip to the US late on Thursday night.

I’m thrilled by this development. Honest, I am.

The hotel guarantees an Internet connection, but we shall see.

  1. I’m asking for a business centre. Some of them have Internet connections, but only for Chinese sites. Pretty shite.

  2. I remember staying at a hotel that said that there is a guaranteed Internet connection … when I got there, I found out that you had to reserve on of the 3 special rooms that had said connection capability. Nice bait and switch.

  3. mark and i stayed at a hotel just off the bund that had good, easy, relatively inexpensive internet access. worst case, you could go there…it’s called Pujiang Hotel, located at 15 Huangpu Lu.

so are you going to bring back Northface jackets?

  4. Not closed, just confiscated all the North Face stuff. Someone from overseas came in and took pictures and reported it to someone. Customs had the pictures.

  5. Might be a good idea – the shop in Xiamen got busted! Closed down by customs last week apparently.

  6. I don’t think I’ll be visiting the Xiangyang market this time, unless someone has special needs (*looks at Neil*).

I have been given a hand-drawn map so I can find the Burton shop, though.
