Those damned intellectuals…

… speaking out and thinking for themselves:

Wang Yi, a law professor at Chengdu University, and nationally published columnist, said the idea of public intellectuals threatened governmental authority in the one-party state.

Another concept corresponding to the notion of public intellectual is public politics, which is inevitably about dissent and even the forming of opposition forces, the newspaper quoted Wang as saying.

Malignant and shady characters such as university academics who educate the youth of today should never be allowed to have a voice.

The voice of the professors is their students … which are much easier to mow down by the hundreds behind closed doors. Disposing of academics is much trickier, they have the special ninja cartigan powers, you know.

Before you start culling people, what IQ level constitutes and intellectual?

TuTu … if you produce nothing for society but angst in students, you are an intellectual. If you produce intelligent and wise students who participate in society and affect noble change, you are a fomenting rabble-rouser who needs to be muffled with haste. I harvested a lot of angst in college.
