Disruption expected at August event

SUNTEC CITY, SINGAPORE — Local police and ambulance crews are reporting increased numbers and vigilance in anticipation of the upcoming World Stamp Championship.

“We expect at least one incident,” police spokesman Boh See Zoh, commented. “Events like this always draw a huge crowd who are looking for lots of action.”

Organisers, however, were confident that the competition would not result in any violence.

“We’re uniting the world through stamps,” Mr Phil Latelick, stamp enthusiast, said. “A movement like ours may cause anxiety and uncertainty because of the heavy equipment we carry around, but I can assure you that we represent non-violence. We need to carry our stamp albums everywhere.”

The official event organisers could not be reached for comment.
